Our History

Frazier & Son Funeral Home traces its roots back to 1933, when Dorsey Funeral Home was established by Jake Dorsey on Broad Street in Abbeville, Georgia. After a fire in the mid-1940s required rebuilding, the Dorsey family continued serving the community for more than two decades. In 1957, the funeral home was purchased by B. Y. Jamerson of Pelham, Georgia.

A new chapter began in 1967 when Glenn Frazier, his wife Edith, and their children moved to Abbeville and acquired the funeral home. Recognizing the need to better serve surrounding communities, the Frazier family purchased the former J.T. Futch home in Rochelle in 1974 and transformed it into a funeral home with expanded facilities, including a chapel and selection areas.

By 1984, operations were consolidated at the Rochelle location to provide a more centralized service area. Continued growth followed, including a significant expansion in 1996 that added arrangement rooms, preparation areas, and additional support spaces. Today, Frazier & Son Funeral Home continues its long-standing mission of caring for families with professionalism, compassion, and respect.
