Walter Thomas (WT) Copeland

Walter Thomas (WT) Copeland, age 86 of Rochelle, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Christian Home Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour before the service in the church. Rev. David Clark will officiate. Interment will be held in the Christian Home Cemetery.

Walter was born on June 2, 1939 to the late Walter Horace Copeland and Edith McKinney Copeland. He graduated from Wilcox Central High School in 1957 earning his diploma. His career consisted of owning two gas stations in Tifton, Ga. and working at the Warner Robins Air Force Base retiring after 48 years on April 30, 2012 from the Avionics Department. He also raised cows until April of 2012. He had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, and riding horses with his neighbors. Throughout WT’s life, he had many achievements. He was on the first football team at Wilcox Central High School (now known as Wilcox County High School), awarded for his “Diagnosis of Electrical Mechanics,” and was a faithful member of Christian Home Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter-Belinda Page and sister-Marilyn Shoemaker.

Survivors include: his wife-Louise R. Copeland, son-Mike (Tanya) Copeland of Rochelle, daughters-Vicki (Bill) Weldon of Vienna and Pamela Ramsey of Rochelle, brother-Stanley (Tillie) Copeland of Rochelle, and sister-Sandra Pate of Cordele, grandchildren-Will Massey, BJ Weldon, Paul Copeland, Brad Weldon, Amber Moore, Chelsey Broadaway, Kelli Faircloth, James Ramsey, Hunter Page, and Chanley Copeland, great-grandchildren-Nik Weldon, Camden Massey, Kyznlee Massey, and James Moore, nieces and nephews-Amy Copeland Wainwright, Clay Copeland, Vince Shoemaker, Ben Shoemaker, Tammy Espe, and Tiffany Graham.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christian Home Baptist Church.
