Vickie Melinda Gibbs Brown

Vickie Melinda Gibbs Brown, age 65 of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026 in the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Ga. A funeral service will be held in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 4:00 PM. Visitation will be held one hour before the service in the church from 3:00-4:00 PM. Private Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Vickie was born on May 31, 1961 in Fitzgerald, Ga. She was daughter of the late Horace E. “Jimmy” Gibbs and Elizabeth “Libby” Ulm. She was a retired music teacher with the Wilcox County Board of Education. She was a faithful and devoted member at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she served as pianist. She was preceded in death by her husband, James David Brown.

Survivors included: son, Jacob Gibbs Brown (Brittani), a daughter, Carrie Owens (Jake), and grandchildren, Dover Owens, Libba Owens, Lottie Grace Owens, and Cooper Brown.

In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 492, Rochelle, Ga 31079.
