Ruby D. Rhodes

Ruby D. Rhodes, age 76 of Pitts, passed away Tuesday, May 10 in the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, May 12 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church.Reverend Jimmy Black, Reverend Phillip Garrett, Reverend Jim Wiley and Reverend Ron Brooks will officiate.Interment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Mrs. Rhodes was born on June 28, 1934 in Pineview, Ga.She was daughter of the late James Pierce Thompson.She was a retired Teller from Planters First Bank.She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and the Hoe and Hope Garden Club in Pineview.She was preceded in death by a brother, Heyward Thompson in 2010. Survivors include:mother-Jewell Thompson of Pitts, husband-Thelbert Rhodes of Pitts, son-Mark Rhodes of Pitts, daughter-Sharon (Cedric) Lavender of Pitts, brother-Freddy (Sarah Nell) Thompson of Pitts, sisters-Shelby (Johnny) Bloodworth of Pineview and Janice (George) Cooke of Thomasville, sister-in-law-Martha Thompson of Pitts, 2-grandchildren-Randi (Richard) Baker and Ben (Anna) Lavender and 1-great-grandchild-Ansley Baker. Visitation will be from 7-9 PM Wednesday, May 11 in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
