Ruby Diane Layfield

Ruby Diane Layfield, age 71 of Abbeville passed away Monday, September 21, 2026 at her residence. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 25th in the M. G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service in the chapel. Reverend Tom Stephens and Reverend Alan Stephens will officiate.

Mrs. Layfield was born on January 21,1955 in Pitts, Ga. She was daughter of the late Claude Satterfield and Lucille Gibbs Satterfield. She was a member of Pitts Church of God and was a homemaker. She loved to sing, dance, and enjoyed life and loved her family. She is preceded in death by her husband-Ben Layfield, a daughter-Teresa Smith, 7 brothers 3-sisters, and a grandchild-Landon Howard.

Survivors include: daughter-Melissa Gaskins, sons-Franklin Layfield and B. J. Layfield (Faye), sister-Claudette Braden, grandchildren- Amber Howard (Henry), Trey Brown (Sam), Ryan Brown, Beth Brown, Tori McWhorter (Chance), Arthur Robinson (Kelci), Hayla Layfield, Gage Layfield, Rachel Hillman and Will Dunlap and 17-great-grandchildren.
