Roger M. Rentz

Roger Merrell Rentz, age 74 of Pitts (Formally of Windsor, SC), passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on November 14, 2026 from 12-4 PM in the Southside Baptist Church Family Life Center, 91 S. Cromartie Street, Hazelhurst, Ga. 31539.

Mr. Rentz was born on March 17, 1952, in Hazelhurst, Georgia. He was the son of the late Burton Rentz and Sarah Chappell Rentz. He was retired from Savannah River Site. He loved hunting, fishing and Georgia Bulldogs Football. He is preceded in death by brothers, Jack Cain, George L. Cain, Randall Cain, Dwight Cain and Mickey Rentz and sisters, Phyllis Cain Williams and Maudry Cain Sanders. He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps.

Survivors include: longtime companion, Sharon Ann King, sons-Jason Rentz (Kim), Casey Rentz (Bobbie Lynn Rentz) and Michael Rentz, daughter-Christy Craig (Darrell), brothers-Terry Rentz and J. B. Rentz (Betty), sisters-Hilda Bruce (Larry), Jan Jung (Kenny) and Renee Rentz, grandchildren-Darrell Lee Craig, Justin Fulmer, Joshua Rentz, Josiah Rentz, Joseph Rentz, Jonah Rentz, Joel Rentz, Callie Underland, William Herron II, Eve Lynn Kranenburg and Jacob Preston Rentz and great-grandchildren-Rosealin Ruby Rentz, Raven Herron, Gwen Herron and Sophia Kate Fulmer.
