Rhonda Zay Whitehead Henderson

Rhonda Zay Whitehead Henderson, age 68, of Abbeville, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at her residence.She was a member of the Wilcox County Arts Council, a former employee with the C&S Bank in Atlanta, the First National Bank of Fitzgerald, the Pulaski State Bank in Hawkinsville and the Colony Bank in Rochelle retiring in 2011.She retired from the City of Abbeville as Assistant Clerk, and was a member and pianist at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she loved to sing and play the piano. Rhonda was born February 21, 1953, in Hawkinsville to the late Leo Whitehead, Jr., and Bobbie Jeanette Daniels Whitehead.She is survived by her husband Charles Hollis Henderson of Abbeville; her sons, Todd Henderson (Kimberly) of Cordele, and Clay Henderson (Bridget) of Unadilla; her daughter, Kelly Tyre (Chris) of Lakeland; and her grandchildren, Logan, Rylee, Jacob, Jacey, Ashley, Karlee, Tyler, Cailyn, Charlee, Georgia Zay, and Chief. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 28th, at 2:00 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Barnette officiating.A visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church prior to the service.Interment will be in Stubbs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nic Worthy, Sonny Crenshaw, Brent Gibbs, Clay Oliver, Brad Carroll, and Bobby Gibbs.Rhonda was a bright and cheerful person and the family asked that everyone attending the service please wear bright colors, no black (thank you).
