Patricia Ashe

Patricia Renew Ashe, 70, of Abbeville, Georgia passed away July 3, 2017 after a courageous, lengthy battle with cancer.Mrs. Ashe was born August 26, 1946 to the late Ernest and Lavan Renew in Abbeville, Georgia. She and James Billy Ashe were married for 49 years.Mrs. Ashe retired from the Wilcox County Middle School where she was the school secretary, having also worked in Abbeville Elementary for many years.She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, James Billy Ashe, daughter, Faith (Lee) Thomas, of Columbia, South Carolina, Jamie (Niesi) Ashe of Abbeville, her beloved grandchildren, Savanna, Zakary and Lily Grace Thomas, all of Columbia, S.C., Camden and Weston Ashe of Abbeville, and she was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her 6th grandchild.Sisters, Joyce Dowdy of Rhine, Jo Ann (Ed) Henderson, of Dearing, Rhonda (Harry) Smith, of Abbeville, brother, Glenn (Genie) Renew of Hazlehurst, brother-in-law Johnny (Barbara) Ashe, of Abbeville, and many loved nieces and nephews.She was predeceased in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Renew, of Leeds, Alabama, and sister-in-law, Judy Hollingsworth of Abbeville. Visitation will be held July 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle, Georgia.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. July 6, 2017 at Siloam Baptist Church in Abbeville.Interment will be at Siloam Baptist Cemetery in a family only ceremony immediately following the service.Reverend Joey Boney will officiate the ceremony and Rusty Smith will provide the eulogy.Music will be provided by Taylor Addison and Holly Howell. Active pallbearers at the service will be Andrew Keen, Jay Renew, Eddie Henderson, Johnny Ashe, Jr., Jake Keen and Adam Dowdy.Honorary pallbearers will be Danny McBryde, Charles Fisher, and Donnie Keene. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Siloam Baptist Church or the Ronald McDonald House charity. The family also wishes to thank Hospice Care Options for their compassion and care.
