Nelton Ray Baker

Nelton Ray Baker, age 79, of Abbeville, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at his residence.  He was a retired Navy Chief with 30 years of service, and was an Aviation Electrician with Robins Air Force Base for 27 years.  He was also a Beekeeper for 30 years.

Nelton was born November 1, 1943, in Wilcox County, to the late Arthur Baker and Virginia Louise Calhoun Baker.  Also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rann Baker, and a brother, Donnie Gene Baker.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ruby Baker; his son, Daniel R. Baker; his daughter, Danita R. Baker  ; his brothers, Aldo Baker (Linda), Arthur Lee Baker, Elvin Baker, and Michael Baker; his sisters, Merilyn NeSmith (Johnny), Myra McCranie, Nettie Mae Baker, Cynthia Adkins, and Nellie Faye Baker.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 18 ^th , at 2:00 p.m. in Morningside Cemetery with Johnny NeSmith officiating.  A visitation will be from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Frazier & Son Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be sent to Friends of Morningside Cemetery Trust Fund, P.O. Box 156, Rochelle, GA 31079.
