Nathaniel "Nathan" Marcus Dykes

March 9, 1993 — May 19, 2025

Nathaniel “Nathan” Marcus Dykes, age 32, of Valdosta, GA passed away at South Georgia Medical Center on May 19, 2025. Born in Hawkinsville, GA on March 9, 1993, Nathan brought humor, warmth, and a whole lot of heart into the lives of everyone who knew him.

Nathan graduated from Wilcox County High School in 2011 and was involved in FFA, specifically cow showmanship.

Nathan was the kind of person that could make anyone laugh, even when they didn’t feel like it. His wit was quick, his smile was contagious, and his presence was comforting. He loved the outdoors, especially the peace and quiet of a good fishing trip or a day at the range. He was a man who cherished simple pleasures and lived life on his own terms.

He took great pride in his work as a Manager at Mavis Tires and Brakes, where he led with fairness, dedication, and a healthy dose of humor. His coworkers and customers knew him as someone they could count on, both for a job well done and a good story or two while they waited.

Nathan was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving family: parents: Millisa (Joel) Gonzalez of Pineview, GA and Donnie (Anita) Dykes of Rochelle, GA; brothers and sisters: Brandon Diles of Pineview, GA; Holly (Alberto) Alvarez of Valdosta, GA; Noel (Mark) Hance of Green Cove Springs, FL; Andrew Somers of Cordele, GA; Alexis Dykes of Rochelle, GA; and Ray and Mubeen Blevins of Valdosta, GA, along with a host of nieces and nephews, a large extended family, and his fur baby Zeus, who will forever hold his memory close. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Mary and Robert Spradley and paternal grandparents Alice “Ruth” and Ottis “Red” Dykes, whose influence and love helped shape the man he became, and nephews Mickey and Marley Hance.

Though his time with us was far too short, Nathan’s funny, kind, and fiercely loyal spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched.

Services will be held in the M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle, GA on Saturday, May 24th at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9-11 before the service. Interment will be in the Cannonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Make A Wish (Dooly County Chapter), Camp Twin Lakes, and/or the American Heart Association.
