Montine Bass Ledford

Montine Bass Ledford, age 83 of Abbeville, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 2 PM in the Cannonville Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour before the service from 1-2 PM in the church. Reverend Joel Owens will officiate. Interment will be held in the Cannonville Cemetery.

Montine was born on December 31, 1942 in Warwick, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Lamar Bass and Emma Elizabeth Bowen Bass. She was a retired manager at Shorty’s Quick Stop. She was a 1962 graduate of Abbeville High School. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and working in the yard. She was a member of Cannonville Baptist Church and a former choir director and church treasurer. She was preceded in death by her husband-Willie Hue Ledford, daughter-Sherry Elaine Ledford, brother-James L. Bass, and sister-Eloise Bozeman.

Survivors include: son-Ronnie Ledford (Amy), daughters-Donna Hardeman and Alicia Garcia (Manuel), sister-Sara Smith, grandchildren-Kyle Hardeman, Cory Hardeman, Kristen Hardeman, Caleb Hardeman, Jordan Ledford, Justin Ledford, Alex Aparicio, Marie Ledford, and Chris Aparicio, Great-Grandchildren- Olive Hardeman, Brailynn Edge, Lakelynn Hardeman, Oakley Hulett, and Mackelyn Hardeman, and Hudson Hardeman.
