Melba R. Hamlen

Melba R. Hamlen, age 94 formerly of Albany, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at The Oaks Nursing Home in Marshaville, Ga. Funeral Services will be in the M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier & Son Funeral Home Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private in the Morningside Cemetery. Rev. Jay Moore will officiate.

Melba was born on July 27, 1931 in Pineview, Ga. to the late Grady S. Rhodes and Irene Elizabeth Powers Rhodes. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband-G. Frank Hamlen, brother-James G. Rhodes, and 2 sisters-Vivian Bloodworth and Lillian Royals.

Survivors include: niece-Beth (Joel) Icard, and nephews-Vic (Glee) Rhodes, Charles (Stephanie) Bloodworth, and Kyle (Sylvia) Bloodworth.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Morningside Cemetery Trust, P.O. Box 156 Rochelle, Ga. 31079.
