Mark E. "Pete" Turner, born on January 24, 1964, in Abbeville, Georgia, passed away on May 12, 2025, at Tift Regional Hospital. Pete will be memorialized by Cremation. He lived a life characterized by kindness and warmth, forever leaving an imprint on those fortunate enough to know him.
Throughout his years, Pete was a self-employed Piece Worker, a testament to his industrious spirit and dedication to hard work. Pete graduated from Wilcox County High School in 1984; however, Pete's education was enriched by the lessons of life and the experiences he gathered along the way.
A man of the outdoors, he found joy in nature and relished every opportunity to work outside. Friends and family recall how he embraced activities that connected him to the earth, all while wearing that familiar smile that made everyone feel welcomed and cherished. As a person, Pete had a big heart; he was incredibly caring and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
His legacy continues through his beloved family. Pete is survived by his sons, T.J. Turner and John Turner, as well as two cherished grandchildren. Their lives reflect the love and affection that Pete bestowed upon them, ensuring that his spirit remains alive in their hearts and memories.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Adam Turner and Bertie Bell Turner, along with two sisters and one brother. Their influence and guidance were fundamental in shaping the man Pete became, and he now rejoins them in peace. Also James D. Sutton who was instrumental in shaping his life in his early pre-school years in a way that continued into his adult life.
As we remember Mark E. "Pete" Turner, we hold close the memories of a gentle soul, whose life was a beautiful blend of love, laughter, and a profound sense of community. He may have left this world, but his kindness and generous spirit will continue to inspire those he touched.
