Linda Ann Lacey Wood

Linda Ann Lacey Wood, 78, passed away at her residence in Pitts, GA, on March 26, 2026 after a brief illness. She was born in Macon, GA on August 29, 1947.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, W. Ronnie Wood of Pitts; her brother Bob Lacey and his wife Ann of Valdosta; two sisters, Kathy Lacey Burnette and her husband Edgar of Pitts; and Dianne Lacey Gooch of Nashville, TN; one niece, Dori Terry and her husband Tracy of Rochelle; three nephews, Wade Burnette and his wife Danyle of Eastman; Bobby Lacey and his wife Ashley of Valdosta, and Taylor Lacey and his wife Hays of Albany; along with 7 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Robert L. Lacey, Jr. and Mrs. Dorothy Zapp Lacey; her grandparents, Mr. Robert L. "Cap" Lacey, Sr. and Mrs. Laurie Pendergrast Lacey of Pitts; and Mr. Joseph Zapp and Mrs. Josephine Graff Zapp of Orlando, FL; and her brother-in-law Chris Gooch of Nashville, TN. 

After attending Pitts High School and graduating from Wilcox Central High School, Linda earned her advanced degree from Valdosta State College (now University). She retired after 31 years of being a educator. An avid reader, Linda also enjoyed researching and documenting her family history. Though no one can fill her shoes, Linda's legacy of love and quiet wisdom will forever endure in the hearts of her family and friends. 

There will be a graveside service in the Pitts Cemetery at the Lacey family plot on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM, with a time of visitation following the service. Wade Burnette will officiate.
