Linda Jean Fennell was a woman whose love could be felt the moment you met her. To many, she was known as “Mama Linda” because whether you were born into her family or just found your way into her life, she had a way of making you feel like you belonged to her.

A Memorial Service will be held at Pitts Church of God on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. 

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Bobby Jean Fennell, her father, Paul Franklin “Catfish” Fennell, Sr., a sister and 3 brothers.

She leaves behind three daughters, Patricia Rollins, Sara May Jones, and Heather (Paul Clark), along with many grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons, family members, and friends who will forever carry her love with them.

Linda had a heart unlike any other. She loved deeply, gave freely, and cared for people without expecting anything in return. She truly did not have a hateful bone in her body. This is where she gave grace freely. If you were hurting, she hurt with you. If you needed something, she would find a way to help even when she had very little left to give herself.

There were so many people who knew her as Mama Linda. Maybe your own mother had passed, maybe you were going through a hard season, maybe you were just passing through or maybe you simply needed somebody to love you a little harder. Mama Linda always seemed to have enough love left to give to every person. She made sure people felt seen, cared for, fed, comforted, and never alone.

She had the heart of a servant and never seemed to grow tired of caring for the people she loved. She was known for doing the little things that meant so much. She loved the beach and the mountains but she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandsons, and simply being surrounded by the people who meant the most to her.

Mama Linda also held a special place in her heart for her caregiver, Sara Jones, and for baby Ellie, whom she loved dearly.

When Linda loved you, you knew it. Her love was not quiet or halfway—it was steady, giving, protective, and REAL. She had a way of making people feel like family, even when they weren’t related by blood.

Her family will miss her more than words can ever express. There will be an emptiness that cannot be filled, but there will also be countless memories of her kindness, her laughter, her giving heart!

Mama Linda’s life was a beautiful example of what it meant to live Christ-like . Her hands may finally be at rest, but the love they gave will continue through every single life she touched.

She was loved beyond measure, and she will be missed beyond words.
