Katherine S. Strickland, age 89 of 7017 Alderwood Drive, Sarasota, Florida, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida.Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2017 in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.Dr. Napp Granade will officiate.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 1-2 PM in the church.Interment will be in the family plot in the Cedar Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Strickland was born on August 4, 1927 in Indianola, Mississippi.She was daughter of the late J. Frank Sims and Martha Doster Sims. Mrs. Strickland had lived in Atlanta, Ga. until 1979 when she moved to Mississippi.She was a homemaker and member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Sarasota, Florida.She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex A. Strickland. Survivors include:son-Charles M. “Chuck” Strickland of Kingsport, Tennessee, daughters-Carol Brush of Sarasota, Florida and Linda Webb of Bradenton, Florida, 7-grandchildren and 6-great-grandchildlren. Pallbearers will be:Bradley Webb, Alston Webb, Conner Niklinski, Cyril Niklinski, John Lacy and John Brush. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
