Jerry E. Barnard

Jerry E. Barnard, age 76 of Rochelle, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM at the Pitts Church of God Worship Center on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Visitation will be held one hour before service from 2-3 PM in the worship center. Reverend Bobby Pope will officiate. Interment will be in the Pitts Cemetery.

Mr. Barnard was born on August 28, 1948 in DeLand, Florida. He was son of the late Laura and Grady Barnard. He was a retired driver for 30+ years from Lasko and Amoco Oil Company. After retirement he enjoyed working for Wilcox County School Systems and the city of Rochelle. He was a faithful and active member of Pitts Church of God. He was a dedicated “Pa” to 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters-Libby Guest and Betty Clark, and a granddaughter-Staci Barnard and a half sister, Opal Bailey.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 59 years-Wilma Nell Burnette Barnard, sons-David (Laura) Barnard, Tony (Dana) Barnard, Matt (Kelly) Barnard, daughters-Dana (Joey) Keene and Deena Gibbs, brothers-Henry Barnard, Donnie (Deedy) Barnard, sisters-Rosie Peavy, Shirley Gasperson, and Kitty Burrell, sister-in-law-Nadine Conner, Judy Burnette, brother-in-law-Edgar (Kathy) Burnette and Sonny Clark, and several nieces and nephews.

Frazier and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
