Jeral E. Barefoot

Jeral E. Barefoot, age 78 of Pitts, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 in Cordele.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 6 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church.Reverend Jimmy Black and Reverend Phillip Garrett will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Mr. Barefoot was born on September 27, 1932 in Cordele, Ga.He was son of the late Delma c. Barefoot and Jewel Dowdy Barefoot.He was a farmer and a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and the Wilcox County American Legion Post #71.He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.He was preceded in death by a daughter Debra Sutton in 2010. Survivors include:wife-Rudena Barefoot of Pitts, sons-Gary Barefoot and Terry (Janet) Barefoot all of Pitts, brother-Loran Barefoot of Seville, sister-Elnita Conner of Warner Robins, 2-grandchildren-Brooke Thompson and Leah Sutton and 2-great-grandchildren-Haven Hollingsworth and Ava Thompson. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, April 5 in the funeral home.
