James R. Smith

James R. Smith, age 76 of Pitts passed away Saturday, October 02, 2010 at St. Josephs Hospital in Atlanta.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday October 4, 2010 in the Pitts Baptist Church.Interment will be in the Christian Home Cemetery Mr. Smith was born on August 3, 1934 in Abbeville.He was son of the late James Monroe Smith and Alice Faye Helms Smith.He was a member of the Pitts Baptist Church and was retired from Homestead Homes Roofing Division.He served his country with honor in the United States Army. Survivors include:wife-Sandra M. Smith of Pitts, brothers-John Henry Smith and Talmadge Smith both of Rochelle, sister-Vivian Collins of Cochran, several nieces and nephews and his beloved pets, Spoorty, Ace, Socks, and Sunshine. Visitation was from 5-7 PM Sunday, Oct. 3 in the funeral home. Frazier & Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has charge of arrangements.
