James David Brown

James David Brown, age 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 11, 2023. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Owensboro with Rev. Barry Campbell and Rev. Johnny Cook officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Ethan Rountree. The family will be receiving friends and family on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 3PM until the hour of the service at 4PM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Immediately following the service David will be laid to rest in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Craig Barnett officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pall bearers; Trevor Hall, Tyler McWhorter, Jeremy King, Matt Lake, Justin Lake, Dover Owens and Jake Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be; Jimmy Gibbs, Eric Gibbs, Bobby Gibbs, Joe Harrell, Danny Rountree, Craig Anderson, Ed Clark and Brad Carroll.

David was born on September 22, 1953 in Dublin, Ga. to the late Mr. James Morgan Brown Mrs. Louise Dover Brown. David was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed attending church with his family. He was affectionately known as PaKa to the light of life his grandbabies, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and working on many different projects.

David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Johnny Barkwell. He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Gibbs Brown, daughter, Carrie Owens and her husband Jake, son, Jacob Gibbs Brown, grandchildren, Dover, Cooper, Libba and Lottie Grace, siblings, Peggy Thomas, Ray Brown, Lesia Hogan and Linda Shannon. Many nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.
