Jack Edwin Lane

Jack Edwin Lane, age 95 of Abbeville, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in the M. G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, September 3rd in Frazier and Son Funeral Home.  Reverend David Clark and Reverend Chuck Taylor will officiate.  Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery.

Mr. Lane was born on January 4, 1929 in Cadwell, Ga.  He was son of the late  Arthur D. Lane and  Lelia Murkerson Lane Gibbs.  He was retired from the Wilcox County Road Department.  He loved old cars and working on them.  He loved racing, wrestling and country and gospel music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Neighbors Lane, a son, Thomas “Frog” Lane and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include:  sons-Dan Lane, Terry (Cathy) Lane, Richard (Diane) Lane and Alan (Sherrie) Lane, daughters-Mary (Rudy) Simmons, Deloris O’Neal, Tammy (Craig) Stephens and Melissa Lane, 27-grandchildren, 41-great-grandchildren and 23-great-great-grandchildren.

Frazier and Son Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
