Donald Lanier Owens

Donald Lainer Owens, age 89 of Rochelle, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Northside Villa Assisted Living. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 4, 2026 in the Arp Cemetery. Reverend David Clark will officiate. Interment will be in the Arp Cemetery in Irwin County.

Donald was born on November 30, 1936 in Moultrie, Ga. He was the son of the late Bryant Owens and Avia Richardson Owens. He was the owner of Owens Paving Company. He loved farming, spending time with his family and a avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan. He was former owner of E-Z Food Mart, Owens Milk Co., and Owens Produce. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers- Gerald, Wayne, and Frank Owens, 3 sister- Barbara Ann Bridges, Glenda Peters, and Gracie White.

Survivors Include: sons, Scotty (Gina) Owens, grandchildren, Mackenzy Owens, Madison Owens, Maggie Owens Whitley (Jake), Great Grandchildren, Wyatt Whitley, Tony (Linda) Owens, grandchildren, Casey (Dale) Owens – Rhine, Ga Megan (Nick) Newton- Norman Park, Ga, Natalie (Billy) Denniston, Brooke (Josh) Poss, Bailey Owens, Great Grandchildren, Curtis Owens, Casen Owens, Maddie Newton, Nash Newton, Atticus Denniston, and Elias Poss, a sister, Eva Jo Jackson (Dave), former spouse and mother of children, Opal Rountree, and several niece and nephews.

Frazier and Son Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
