Carrel "Peanut" Mixon

Carrel “Peanut” Mixon age 87 of Abbeville, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 20th in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour before the service from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM in the church. Pastor Chuck Taylor and Pastor Bryan Luke will officiate. Private interment will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Mixon was born on May 16, 1938 in Abbeville, Ga. He was son of the late Lee Coley Mixon and Eva Statham Mixon. He was a retired Civil Service Employee at Robins Air Force Base as a Maintenance Manager. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School and served as class Valedictorian. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and loved his wife, Wanda and grandchildren. He served his country with honor in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by a son, Floyd Mixon, and brothers, Julius Mixon, Johnnie Mixon and Harvey Mixon.

Survivors include his loving wife, Wanda Stapleton Mixon of 62 years, brother-David Mixon and grandchildren-Johnathon Mixon, Kayla Mixon, Addi Mixon and Brent Smith and great-grandchildren-Layton Ball, Jake Costa, Cooper Rowe, Colton Richey and Easton Hunter.

Frazier and Son Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
