Brent Cason McKinley, 71, of Pitts, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025.
Brent was born on October 18, 1954 in Miami, Florida. When he was a teenager, his parents relocated to Palatka, Florida, where he spent many years at the family’s “River House,” fishing and exploring the St. Johns River with his siblings. Brent lived much of his adult life in St. Augustine, Florida. He was a skilled carpenter who could build nearly anything, and he mastered several other trades throughout his lifetime. Brent believed in living a simple life with few material possessions. He loved nature and music. He was a lifelong learner and a devout Christian.
For many years, Brent led a security business with his late brother Jeff. This was one of many chapters of the brothers’ adventures together, with the two working various trades and exploring many areas of the country in their endeavors. Brent spent many of the later years of his life on the family farm in Pitts, Georgia before relocating due to illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, Olen Colbert McKinley and Serena Inelle Cason McKinley; his four siblings - Annell Hubbard, Jeffrey McKinley, Karen McKinley and Larry McKinley, and his brother-in-law and dear friend, Bill Hubbard.
Brent is survived by his son and daughter and their families - Josh McKinley (Kara) and their children Ava and Noah, and Tiffany McKinley Schuder (Karl) and their children Quinn and Seth. He is also survived by the children and grandchildren of his beloved sister Annell - Jackie Rodriguez (Eddie) and their children Mark and Pierson, Aaron Hubbard (Tami) and their daughter Pearl, Billy Hubbard (Jessica), Byron Hubbard and Jonathan Hubbard.
Brent was larger than life. He was a restless soul and an endless explorer. His pursuit of knowledge was relentless. He was the best at late night phone calls and deep conversations. He is already greatly missed by those who love him. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, December 8th at 11:00 a.m. at M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel. Pastor Eddie Wilcox will officiate. Arrangements will be handled by Frazier and Son Funeral Home of Rochelle, Georgia.
