Bessie P. Williams

Bessie D Williams, born July 17, 1944 in Cordele, Ga., to the late James Edward Peters and Martha Williford Peters, passed on Tuesday October 13, 2026 peacefully surrounded by her family. Celebration of Life services will be held on Tuesday October 20, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Clark officiating.

Mrs. Williams was married to Mr. Marvin Joe Williams, she was a member of the Christian Home Baptist Church. She worked for many years with Danny Belyeu Chevrolet as a cashier. She always enjoyed a good book to read, traveling, cooking a good meal for her family or her greatest joy spending time with her grandchildren.

Bessie is survived by her husband; Mr. Marvin Joe Williams, son; Billy Peters, step-daughters; Mary Williams and Cissy Sanchez five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, brother; William “Pete” Peters and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers; Alan & Thomas Peters and sisters; Nancy Barry and Opal Roberts.

The family will be receiving family and friends at the home of Mary Williams 312 Bowen St. Abbeville, Ga. 31001.
